What We Believe

We believe that God loves us infinitely. We believe in the value of every individual. We believe in prayer and contemplation. We believe in loving our neighbour. We believe in living our lives authentically, from the core of our being. We believe that it's good to ask questions and it's okay to be different. We believe that the greatest commandment is to love God with all of our hearts, all of our minds and all of our strength. We believe that Christian stories and Scripture offer a wonderful approach to knowing the divine. We believe in the validity of other faith traditions as well.

Sometimes we express our faith in unison, using the words of the United Church of Canada's "New Creed":

We are not alone,
we live in God's world.

We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.

We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.

We are not alone.

Thanks be to God.
