A Carbon Fast for Lent - Week 2
This week, we are asking you to shop and eat thoughtfully. You
might try buying only what you need, repairing and reusing rather
than replacing, buying second-hand goods, cooking from fresh rather
than processed ingredients, using the Mailing Preference Option to
remove your name from junk mail lists, observing Meatless Mondays,
or bringing your shopping bags to the store.
Friendship Dinners
Sign up in the auditorium after church if you would like to be a
guest or a host for dinners in April, May or June. This is a great
way to meet new people from the congregation, while raising money
for special projects at the church.
Sponsoring a Bulletin
If you would like to sponsor a bulletin cover in celebration of a
birthday or anniversary or in memory of a loved one, please call
the office and arrange which Sunday you would like. The cost is
only $20.
Junior Choir
All children are invited to be part of a Children's Choir for
Easter. Call the office for more details.
Saving
Jesus
Jesus once asked his disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" Many of
us today are asking, "What do I believe about Jesus?" If you also
are a questioner, come join a discussion group that will meet at
Silver Spire from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday evenings (beginning February
2) or from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons (beginning February 3).
Each session will include a 20-minute video presentation featuring
leading progressive voices from various denominations, followed by
a small group discussion led by a facilitator. This course is
designed to enable participants to grow past their Sunday School
beliefs and develop an understanding of who Jesus is for them
